An island formed by volcanic rock can only irradiate passion, while its fissures slowly open, allowing its tropical beauty to emerge from its shell, boasting to all the other beings that there is a very good reason that Cozumel was named “the flower of the earth” in one of the most important books of Maya history, the Chilam Balam of Chumayel.
It is very true what they say about Mother Nature being pure wisdom, for it created Cozumel as a perfectly good place to live in, but it has also bestowed upon us humans the duty and responsibility of caring for and protecting the most beautiful coral reefs, and these reefs in turn rise up and offer their best smile every day, so that scuba divers from all of the world can admire their natural perfection.
How did all this beauty come together in this one spot? Just imagine, if you ever had the opportunity of being the Goddess of Love, how would you have designed your surroundings?
In fact, the sanctuary of Ixchel, the Goddess of Love, resides in Cozumel.
The Maya of those long gone yesterdays, also traveled over to this island in canoes, on a pilgrimage from what is now Xcaret, looking for answers.
Cozumel is without a doubt the perfect answer when you ask yourself what places in the Caribbean you should visit, and there won’t be time for you to blink because you could miss the gifts that Ixchel will bestow on you while she accompanies you on your journey.
