The Maya culture was one of the most evolved civilizations on the planet, and so was their writing. According to the most recent investigations, the Maya came very close to creating an alphabetical system.
Their extensive written legacy evinces the creative capacity with which they interpreted, by hand, the environment in which they lived. Sometimes it was in a magical way, other times from a philosophical point of view and many others merely objectively. By using rational thought as their main tool they were able to leave tracks, trails and riddles which have endured through the days, the years and the centuries.
We would have liked it if the Maya had left us more material and information so that we could have learned more from them; however, they were so wise that, it is possible that what they did leave us is more than enough. The Maya world is definitely something still unknown to us, but their infinite wisdom should be used to our advantage and benefit, because there is a reason that it is now within our reach.
