Our history in the tourism field only goes back some
40 years, but as of today we are the reference for
other destinations since we have become the number
one tourist destination in México and Latin América.
Currently, Quintana Roo has 85 thousand hotel rooms,
which is 16 percent of the Mexican hotel industry, with
more than 15 hotels in the diamond-rated category, 60
percent of all those in the country; three international
airports, among which is that of Cancún - the largest
hub for México and Latin América; the best shopping
centers, marinas, theme parks, international restau-
rants and all types of services for tourists, all with the
beautiful backdrop of the Caribbean Sea, the lush
jungle and the Mayan ruins - one of the most impor-
tant in pre-Hispanic México.
What we have to offer is ample and varied. Quintana
Roo is not only a sun and beach destination; in addi-
tion, it offers a large variety of options including ar-
chaeology, adventure, ecotourism, sportfishing, water
sports, scuba diving along the Great Mesoamerican
Reef or in cenotes and caves.

mel, Isla Mujeres, Holbox, the Costa Maya, Mahahual,
Chetumal, Bacalar and the Mayan Zone await you with
open arms.
Nuestra historia en la industria turística comenzó a
escribirse hace poco más de 40 años, y hoy somos
punto de referencia porque levantamos lo que hoy es el
principal destino turístico de México y Latinoamérica.
Hoy Quintana Roo tiene 85 mil habitaciones hoteleras,
el 16 por ciento de la oferta hotelera de México, con más
de 15 hoteles de categoría Diamante, el 60 por ciento de
los que hay en el país; tres aeropuertos internacionales,
entre los que destaca el de Cancún, que es el de mayor
conectividad de México y América Latina; las mejores
plazas comerciales, marinas, parques temáticos, restau-
rantes de cocina internacional y toda clase de servicios
para los turistas, todo enmarcado en la belleza del Mar
Caribe, la selva y los vestigios de la cultura maya, una de
las más importantes del México prehispánico.
Nuestra oferta turística está diversificada. Quintana
Roo no sólo ofrece sol y playa, además de grandes
opciones para el turismo arqueológico, de aventura,
ecoturismo, pesca deportiva, deportes acuáticos,
buceo en el Gran Arrecife Mesoamericano o en cenotes
